Take Flight.learn to windfoil.
Private wind foil coaching at Lake Fairview, for experienced windsurfers making the transition to the foil. All gear included.
Everything you know. Plus flight.
You already know the rig. You know how to use the wind, read a tack, and feel overpowered before it becomes dangerous. Wind foiling uses all of that, and adds a hydrofoil beneath the board that lifts you off the surface when speed builds.
The sensation is what every windsurfer who has done it describes the same way: it is different and elegant and adventurous and it does not feel like anything else. The silence when the board leaves the water. The efficiency. The control.
The crossover is not trivial. But it is learnable, and learning it with the right gear and proper instruction is faster than learning it by trial and error on your own.

Private sessions, one-on-one.
What's Included
One-on-one coaching. Some foil equipment is available to use, though we encourage sailors to bring their own favorite rig and harness. If you already own windsurf foil gear, we can train on it when it suits your transition.
What the Sessions Cover
The foil transition. Balance adjustments specific to foiling. Foot strap and harness position on a foil board. Managing height, the difference between skimming and flying. Pumping the foil in light air. Recovery when the foil breaches.
Who This Is For
Proficient short board windsurfers. You must be able to use a harness and footstraps, waterstart and uphaul a small board, and carry a planing gybe.
Some equipment is available to use; bring your own rig and harness when you can. Gift cards accepted.

From a 1906 invention to modern, futuristic personal flight over water.
Hydrofoils, the submerged wings that lift a craft above the water, were invented more than a century ago: the first was built in 1906. For decades they were used behind boats and in tow-in riding, and by the early 2000s watermen were putting foils under surfboards.
Then in the late 2010s, modern lightweight materials brought foiling to windsurfing and wing riders, and it became the sport we ride today. You are learning something with a long history, on water that is perfect for it.
Lake Fairview, up close.
Aquavela launches from Lake Fairview Marina, and on some days from Grills restaurant on the water. Locals can also use the free public boat ramp and park nearby. From the marina we sail out, paddle out, or run sessions from our coach boat. From Grills you get a convenient launch plus restrooms and an outdoor bar for a bite and a drink after the session.
The lake is spring-fed and genuinely active: sailboats, rowing teams, kayakers, paddleboarders, windsurfers, wing foilers, fishing boats, and the occasional seaplane all share the water. It is a fun place to be, as long as you stay aware of the traffic. When the wind picks up the recreational boats thin out, and advanced sailors often have the lake to themselves.
Coached through the transition.
Aquavela coaches the windsurfer-to-foiler transition directly: what transfers from your sailing, what does not, the common errors, and how each session adapts to your background. Sessions are one-on-one, with goals set and progress tracked.
